Jennifer Doreen Heriot

Born on February 2, 1978, to Neil Devitt and Gwen Doreen Devitt (nee Skitch), she is one of two children and precedes her brother Michael J. Devitt (husband to Pam).

She met and fell in love with Wade Heriot, of Oshawa, ON. They were married on August 8, 2009, and have shared and built a life together for 16 years.

A loving and proud mother to Brandon Devitt (husband to Kayla) and to Hope Heriot, she taught her children to be fearless, have fun, follow their paths in life and to be their own person.

Serving as a baker and eventually as the dairy manager, Jennifer worked for Metro for over 24 years.

Jennifer was very active in the Canadian Corps Association, serving on the Women’s Auxiliary, and volunteering often for events and receptions. She had a love for bingo and darts. She was a skilled and fierce competitor, known as a high-out player among the leagues in which she played.

Having a soft spot for bulldogs, Jennifer had three furry friends – Lulu, Millie, and Aurora. She even had a McCaw named Madison.

Jennifer loved all things associated with outdoors – her Jeep, paddle boarding, camping, and going to her mountain.

Her departure comes as a great shock and deep wound to her family, friends and countless others who loved her deeply.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Canadian Corps Association Oshawa or to the Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue.

A Celebration of Life, to be held at a later date, will be announced.
