John's positive attitude, entertaining stories and sound advice were an inspiration to many. He touched the lives of many people, some he never even met. He made a difference.

Rest in peace John

I worked for John back in the 1980's at Consumers Gas. He was the Manager of the Meter Reading Department. He was a nice man with a big heart and he made a sincere effort to make the meter readers (there were 47 of us at one time) feel appreciated, respected and looked after. He came in to quell wars between management and unionized employees and pretty soon peace was found and a new era of respect was ushered in...because of John's efforts. We had some battles in the beginning, but John very quickly earned my respect as well as the respect of the other meter readers for the way he tried to make us feel a part of the Company rather than the rebels we were portrayed as at the time. He often joked with me in the later years about our early battles.

Rest in peace John. Your work is done here.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Stacey, Charlene, Sean and families and the Feeney families and many others whom John cared so deeply about.. John was a special man who cared for all those who's lives he touched. He is at peace now, free from pain. May the special memories you have bring joy and laughter through the tears and sadness you may feel. RIP John.

Dawn, Ian, Joe, Liz and Colin - I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I met my father-in-law and Marg in 1988 and I loved my visits with them on Joe and I's first trip to Toronto together.

It's been many years since seeing John, but the many memories of times with the Feeney family come flooding back at times like this! May you sense not only our love and prayers, but the love and strength of the God that was part of your family heritage! May He be real to you in these sad days!

My sincere condolences to John's family and friends. I will miss his beautiful smiles, great hugs and his twinkling eyes. He was one of the most wonderful men I have ever known.
Patti, Merv loved John as a brother. He just seemed to be part of our family as well. He will be so missed. I am comforted knowing the two of them are now having a blast!!!
