MONRO, John “Wayne” (Retired 43 year employee of General Motors) Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on December 1st, 2012, at the age of 68. Loving husband of Marilyn. Beloved father of Kelly Bernard (Reg) and Kim Allen (Ron). Cherished grandfather to Cameron Allen and Elise Bernard. Son of the late Bruce and Kathleen Monro. Survived by his brother Rick Monro (Lou-Ann) and his sister Janet Kirby (Paul). Predeceased by one brother and four sisters. He will be remembered by extended family and friends. The family would like to thank the staff on the 6th and 4th floor at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa for all of their care and support. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, December 7th, 2012 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 8th, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre.

Dear Marilyn and family. We were shocked to hear about Wayne. He was such a great man and a true gentleman and we enjoyed seeing him at Cribbage at the Conant Centre. We send our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you and the Monro family.
