May 20, 1947 – January 31, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Woolner, who departed this earth peacefully on January 31st, 2026, at the age of 78. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jean, and his only sister, Anne, John will be dearly missed by his nieces and nephews—Tammy, Christina, Sofia, and Anthony—and many great nieces and nephews. He is also remembered fondly alongside his predeceased niece and nephew, Cathy and Brian.
John was a kind and loving man, a devoted family jokester, and a source of laughter for all who knew him. He loved to sing, tell jokes, cheer on the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, and had a passion for bowling and playing bingo.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Glen Hill Strathaven, and to Cindy, his good friend and caretaker—John’s life was much happier with you in it. His love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.
