Joy McCourt

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on March 26th, 2015 in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Andy McCourt (1993) and her sister Margaret MacDonald (2012). She was blessed with a wealth of family who loved her dearly. Loving mother of David & Sheila of Baysville, Peter & Wendy of Bailieboro, Paul & Diane of Bethany and JoAnne and Stephen Wade of Cameron. Cherished Grandmother of 13, Great Grandmother of 15, and Great Great Grandmother of one. She will be greatly missed by her friends of the Sunrise Seniors Place Tea Club. Joy founded Little Folks Nursery School, which operated in at Christ Anglican Church, Eglinton Ave., E. and Markham Rd., Scarborough Ontario from the 1950's into the late 70's. Thank you to the PSW's at Sunrise Seniors Place for the special care given to her over the years. As per our mothers’ wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of Joy’s life will take place on Saturday April 25th, 2015 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario (905-721-1234). Memorial donations the the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
