Joyce Elizabeth Piwek

October 30, 1936 to May 3, 2026

Joyce passed peacefully with family by her side after a short illness on May 3, 2026 at Lakeridge Health. She is survived by her husband Hans Piwek of 48 years, her children Rick Bourque, Terry Bourque (Judy), Brian Bourque (Sherry), Lori-Ann Eades, her grandchildren Shannon (Brian), Bobbi-Lynn (Jay), Ryan (Jen), Candice, Stacey (Adam), Lindsey (Greg), Kyle (Ashlyn), Shandey (Andrew), Brittany (Jake), Brandon (April), Cameron, her great grandchildren Austin, Hunter, Rylee, Wyatt, Harrison, Beauden, Isabelle, Myles, and Bentley. She is also survived by her siblings Ernie Turner (Doreen), Myrtle Sterling (Junior), Wyndy Holland (Regie).

She is pre deceased by and rejoins in eternal light with her brother Hudson Goodwin (Donna) and her parents Basil and Leata Turner (Goodwin), her son Joseph and her late ex-husband LeoPaul Bourque.

Joyce will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. She loved every moment she shared with them. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, and aunt and a great friend to many. She will be remembered for her love of knitting, gardening, blue grass and country music, dancing, life altering hugs, and yelling the loudest at every hockey game. She started her career in New Brunswick at RBC and then spent many years in Oshawa as a Child Care Educator who positively influenced the life of many children who attended Happy Tots. Joyce will be deeply missed by many.

The family would like to give thanks to the kind nurses (Taylor) from LakeRidge Health for making her last moments so comfortable.

Visitation will be held Monday May 11, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King St. W. in Oshawa.

Funeral Services will take place Tuesday May 12, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. at the same location with a small celebration of life afterward.

Joyce will take her last journey to New Brunswick where she will rest in her home town at the Baie Verte Cemetery. Burial service will be on Sunday May 17, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. A small family celebration of life will be held after the ceremony at the Baie Verte Hall.
