Keith will be dearly missed by his high school sweetheart, best friend and wife of over 54 years, Bonnie; children Jenny Lynne (Tim) and Beau (Sylvie); and his grandsons Lawson, Tanner and Will. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Keith was predeceased by his father George James, mothers Mary James and Marianne Schroeder, brother Bruce and sister Shirley. He is survived by his brothers Jim and Ken, and his sister Sally.
Keith had a love for cars, boats, aviation and heavy equipment. He restored a classic Corvette that went on tour across Canada, and in his teenage years was in the local paper for converting a horse-drawn carriage into a running and drivable vehicle. Growing up at the family cottage, Keith developed a love for boating and spending time on the water, and in his 20s, he obtained his solo pilot’s licence at the Oshawa Airport.
Known for his creativity, eye for design and innovative thinking, Keith was a natural at building custom furniture, completing home renovation projects and even creating his own custom cooking recipes. He also loved to spend time in his home workshop building radio-controlled airplanes and boats. His creativity and many passions live on lovingly through his children and grandsons.
As an entrepreneur and site developer, Keith took great pride in managing large-scale construction and infrastructure projects, turning fields and undeveloped property into foundations and roadways.
Heartfelt thanks to Lakeridge Health Oshawa’s Dr. John Kennedy, Dr. Audrey Li and nurse Barb, and Brooklin Medical Centre’s Dr. Dylan DeMarco, for their compassionate and excellent care.
A formal service will not be held at this time, however a celebration of life for Keith will be announced at a later date.
