Leslie Lewin, a beloved member of the Oshawa community, passed away on February 18, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica on June 13, 1944. Leslie was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and love of life. He was fearless when exploring the world as a young man. Leaving Jamaica at the age of 17, he travelled abroad and built a great life for himself and his children. His passion for cars and electronics grew over the 30 years while working on the line at General Motors. During that time, he made many lifelong friends.
He touched the lives of many with his warmth, generosity, and wisdom. Leslie will be remembered for his passion for music and his storytelling abilities. He could captivate a room reminiscing about old times.
He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and joy that will be cherished by all who knew him. Leslie will be deeply missed by his 6 children, and 6 grandchildren: Marcia (Zayn and Alex), Paul, Anthony (Shara, Terrence, and Kaya), Cheryl (Phoenix), Denise (Ashton), and Melissa.

The family has entrusted Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) with the arrangements. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 11:30am – 1:30pm with ceremony to follow. Reception will follow.
