It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.

I am very sorry for the great loss to Lisa's family. I just heard of Lisa's passing. I knew Lisa back in her Durham College days many years ago. She was always a very fun positive and caring person with a great sense of humour. She truly saw the world through rose coloured glasses. I hope all her family are doing well in this difficult time

Lisa was a great mother to her son Luke. She was a great volunteer and helper with school trips and outings. I was always amazed with her positive ways and smile.I was blessed to know such a kind and wonderful woman. I will take good care of Luke at school. Simone Dupont -Luke's teacher.

I remember Lisa coming to meet my husband and I at the hospital when both our husbands were having the same surgery done. I didn't know her that long but I knew that she was a very kind and warm hearted lady. And through the years of being a Facebook friend I got to see that. She loved her two favorite men. Even though she was very Ill she made the best memories for them. And for that she also made me see how much passion and drive she had.
I wish I was half the women she was..

I remember Lisa as Luke's Mom.  I was Luke's kindergarden teacher at the time.  Luke was very keen on learning a new language and Lisa would come in and volunteer her time in class when she could. Hello Luke, your friend Nicholas from Edna Thomson here, I haven't seen you in a while, probably since our 3rd birthday parties actually, but wanted to tell you I am sorry to hear about your mom!  My family and I are thinking of you, your dad and family!

I remember when we were kids and I lived in NF and Lisa & Vicki lived in Newcastle.  To keep in touch we became PenPals.  I loved receiving their letters in the mail and laughed when Lisa told me her favorite playtime was when she and Vicki acted out roles from Charlie's Angels!  To my dear cousin with the greatest smile, love, courage and strength you will be missed and your spirit will live on through Luke. Dear Luke,
I met your mom at McMillan Binch, a long time before you were born.  Then we worked together at Y&R until she got sick.  I have so many special memories of her, she was the nicest, happiest and most loving person I have ever met.  I remember so many times she would ask about my little girl and what it was like to be a mom.  She wanted to be a mom more than anything and I know the day you were born was the happiest day of her life.  Being your mom was the joy of her life and I know that it gave her the strength to fight and live as long as she possibly could.  Watching her love for you has been such an inspiration for me and I can honestly say that it was a privilege and honor to know her, she taught me a lot about love. Dear Steve, Luke and family,

Cancer does not discriminate. However, that does not make it honorable. 

 Our youngest "Pink Sister" Lisa,  was too young to be taken.(Hearth Place Cancer Support - Newly Diagnosed Group 2004),  

But how honoroable that she was given the time, following her prognosis, to prepare herself and her family for her demise. Lisa appeared to be at peace with it all. Her last words to our group were of thanks for support and friendship and of love.
  
She died with dignity and I feel honoured to have called her "sister".

Lisa, our special neice and cousin was a very brave soul with a kind heart and contagious smile who couragiously fought her battle to the very end. God called her to his gates in heaven, and now there is a beacon shining over her forever until we all meet again one day. She has been an inspiration to all who knew or heard of her. Jim, Karen, Vicky, Steve, Luke and families, our prayers and thoughts have always been with you, especially through this journey.

Lisa was a good and loved friend to Yvonne, Anita and myself from the time that she started working at the hospital; friendships of such duration and depth are few and far between in anyone's life. I will always remember the lunch room, the restaurant chats and shopping sprees, and four grown women having sleepovers like teenage girls.  Between the four of us, we could have solved the problems of the world...or at least, that's what it felt like!  We didn't see as much of Lisa in the past year, but we understood that Lisa needed to spend as much of her remaining time as possible with Luke and with Steve.  Lisa displayed remarkable courage and a sense of humor, in spite of everything.  We will always miss her and remember her with love.
