Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013. Beloved husband and best friend of Ellen for 16 years. Adored Dad of Pam. Cherished Poppa of Aleena. Predeceased by his parents Wesley and Lillian (Ray), as well as by his brother Lorne and his sister Florris Anthony. Fondly remembered by Gary (Lisa) and Lisa (Steve). Those who knew Lloyd will remember him as Founding Member of CAW Hockey League, active Coach in both hockey and baseball, (he was very proud of coaching the winning Girls All Ontario Baseball Team). Lloyd was also a Board Trustee of Durham Region School Board and Past President of Auto Workers Credit Union. He was very involved in the CAW, in fact he was very instrumental in the building of the new CAW Hall as well as editor of Oshaworker for 15 years. He organized many CAW teen dances bringing many well know celebrities including Diana Ross and the Supremes among others. He was very active in the community, discussing his political views and will be best remembered for his strong personality and dedication. Lloyd was also a trustee at Northminster United Church and Vice President of the Probis Club of Oshawa. He leaves behind a very long legacy. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West on Friday, June 7th from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at NORTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH (676 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa) on Saturday, June 8th at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for Northminster United Church.
