

Passed away peacefully of cancer on Monday, February 6th, 2017 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa at the age of 90. Loreen, beloved wife of the late Frank Gravelle was born on August 1st, 1926 to Ruby (Drinkle) and Edward Brown. She was their last surviving child. Dearly loved by her children William Gravelle (Darlene), Pamela Warrilow (Paul) and Andrea Brison (Jacques). Proud grandmother of Tracey Callwood, Bill Bennet, Bonnie Jennings, Robert Gravelle (Anna), Richelle Nantais (Shannon), Rebecca Kelly (Jeff), Michael Paul, Christopher Warrilow and Adam Warrilow. Sadly missed by her many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Loreen is predeceased by her siblings Norman (Duke) Brown, Ella Walters (Bert), Mary Woodward (Bill), William Brown (Marion), Ernest Brown (Wilamena “Billie”), Doreen “Tine” Brock (Eric) and Leona Wright (Nelson) and by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Margaret Schultz (John), Michael Gravelle (Eileen), Bradley Taylor, John Gravelle, Albert Gravelle, June Mercer, Lillian Lenahan (Larry). Loreen is survived by sisters-in-law Mary Brotherwood, Anne Schell, Nancy Brisbin, Doris Taylor and brother-in-law Paul Vine. Aunt Pidge will be sadly missed by many generations of nieces and nephews. In earlier years Loreen volunteered with the First Oshawa Boy Scouts Ladies Auxiliary, Woodcrest Public School Parent Teachers’ Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Arthritis Association and Red Cross. The last couple of years became more difficult as Loreen’s health declined, but she never missed a family gathering. She enjoyed the many friendships made at her Faith Place apartment building. The family would like to thank Dr. David Thow and Staff, CCAC, PSWs, Therapists, Nurses and the Staff at Lakeridge Supportive Care for making her last hours peaceful. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, February 10th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 11th at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. and interment at Thornton Cemetery. In memory of Loreen, donations may be made to Lakeridge Oshawa Hospital Foundation.
