Maria Calabrese Ignazzitto

(March 23rd, 1918 – July 27th, 2015)

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, July 27th, 2015, at the age of 97. Dearly beloved wife of the late Francesco Ignazzitto. Loving mother of Giuseppe Ignazzitto (Lina), Maria Lazzaro (Giovanni), Angelina Palazzolo (Salvatore), Gino Ignazzitto and his companion Carmen. Dearly devoted Nonna of Maria (Rick), Frank (Sherry), Tony (Angela), Frances, John (Sheri) and Francis (Debbie). Big Nonna of Brandan, Christopher, Tyler, Jacob, Natalie and Sophia. Predeceased by her brothers Carmelo, Tindaro, Salvatore, Giuseppe (Calabrese), sister Rosina (Molica Lazzaro) and in-laws Antonio, Eleanora and Orazio. Survived by sisters-in-law Rosa, Rosina, Maria and Angelina, and numerous nieces and nephews. On behalf of our Mom and family, we would like to thank all friends, relatives, Dr. J. Barrettara and the nursing staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Alternative Care Living (ACL) Ward. The great loving care you have given Maria is deeply appreciated. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, July 30th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC CHURCH (91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby) on Friday, July 31st at 10:30 a.m. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
