To Noel and Family, As Wendy and I  approach Christmas, we reflect on the past year and those who have passed on. Special memories of Nancy come to mind throughout the past year, but especially now as we approach the one year anniversary of her passing. We cherish our precious memories of a beautiful wife, mom, grandmother who touched so many. As we celebrate Christmas, we will celebrate Nancy's life and remember the great and special times we shared. Thinking of all of you.

Nancy, it is so hard to believe it's almost been one year without you.  You are missed so very much by so many.  As we approach Christmas I am reminded of you most everywhere I turn.  From the holiday decorating, to Christmas shopping to the wrapping of gifts, I have special memories of us together doing these things - all of which put a huge smile on my face!  I love you and miss you.  

Carter also thinks of you often and has a special place inside him just for you.

Mom, as the one year anniversary of your passing approaches, I find it very difficult to stay focused. All I can think about is you and the times we spent together. I'm praying that we're together again much sooner than later. Times are tough and you would always be there to make things alright. :(   It's amazing at how much of a difference you made to me. All my love, now and forever.

My Mom was a laundry ace, removing any stain with all sorts of magical tricks.
My Mom was a Halloween Hauntress and passed on her love of day on to me.
My Mom loved to shop and would lose herself at the mall, literally... to the point we`d have to split up and search for her many a Saturday at the Scarborough Town Centre.
My Mom packed a great picnic, especially on hot summer days while my brother and I would splash around as young boys in the nearby wading pool.
My Mom was not the greatest driver; or maybe she just loved her plants too much.  One Summer morning my Dad had already left for work and I was getting ready to head off to college and my Mom said goodbye and went off to work herself... 5 minutes later she was frantically ringing the doorbell and telling me she crashed her car blocks away, but wasn`t sure what had happened.  I made sure she was alright, and then jumped in my car to find the crash scene.  The scene was just around the corner from our street.  She was taking a potted plant to work, left it in the passenger seat, and as she was making a right turn out of our street the plant must have tipped... she must have looked down, hit the gas, and turned the corner and went up onto the neighbour`s curb, getting the 8 foot cedar clippings that were left out for garbage pickup all stuck up in the car`s wheel-wells.  It was a lot of fun cleaning the debris out of the car.
My Mom was the owner of a green thumb, and was a gardener extraordinaire.  In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, if you dropped in on my parent`s unexpectedly you would almost always find my Mom gardening.  She`d frequently `split-off` plants for neighbours and share vegetables from the garden. 
My Mom was a day-tripper.  She loved drives into little towns with my Dad for shopping.
My Mom was a beach-bum, and loved Old Orchard, Maine, a favourite vacation spot for our family in the early days.
My Mom was an exquisite baker, and was always willing to whip up a batch of something for us.
My Mom was My biggest softball fan, even sitting through cold, damp, rainy tournaments in nearby cities on weekends, and cheered us on.
My Mom was a collector of things like Royal Daulton figurines, and owls.
My Mom was allergic to apples, pears and cherries.
My Mom was bilingual, and I was reminded of it mostly when got upset with my Dad.
My Mom was an incredible and meticulous gift wrapper.
My Mom was a connoisseur of Kahlua and milk.
My Mom wasn`t a big reader, but really enjoyed a good romance novel and the Sunday Comics.
My Mom gave a great neck and shoulder massage if you were sore or under-the-weather.
My Mom was unselfish and would drop everything if you needed some help.
My Mom had a beautiful smile that lit up the room.
She was a devoted wife of 40 yrs,  a Mom of 38 yrs  a playful Grandmama of 6 years, and a wonderful human being for 64 years.
I admire you...

Firstly, I owe you my life. You carried me for 9 months and sacrificed so much to raise me and make sure I was loved and safe. You also taught me all about the importance of family which I now appreciate more than ever.

You loved me so much, I never once doubted your devotion. You were the best mother and there isn't a single thing I would change.

I want to tell you that I am going to strive to become a wonderful man, to treat others the way you would, to love my family the way you did, and to keep my head up and fight.. no matter what the battle.

You are a soldier, a fighter, an inspiration, a beautiful, loving, caring, nurturing woman who loved her family and your memory will forever be a part of me.
