Mr Potocnik will always be someone I remember fondly from my time as a student at Dr FJ Donevan CI. He was so helpful and supportive in his role as my Guidance Counselor. But more than that he cared about all of us. I learned after the fact that he was was praying for me. I was very ill as a teen, fighting to beat anorexia. And he cared enough to pray for my health and well-being. That’s a very special and kind act. I am forever grateful that he cared.

Peter was a great mentor to me early in my teaching career at Dr. F.J. Donevan. We had grand times coaching soccer together over many years. In the late 70's, Peter had the idea of starting a petition to have the World Cup broadcast on Canadian TV, and I was happy to assist. Eventually we collected over 10,000 signatures (and got our photo in the Toronto Star)! I've always believed that our petition paved the way for today's blanket coverage of World Cup soccer. Peter was a fine gentleman who took immense pride in his family. May he rest in peace.
