Richard Henry Bishop

Passed away after a brief illness at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa on April 12th, 2015 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his loving wife Sally of 66 ½ years. Adored dad of Mark (Brian), Paul (Grace), Mike (Linda) and Donna (Rusty). Predeceased by his loving son Rick (1990) and by his son-in-law Roy (2006). Cherished Grampa and Papa of Allison, Amy, Jennifer, Laura, Claire, Matthew, Emily and Sarah. Dick was a loving brother of Bob (Yvonne) and late Frank (Dee) and will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. Those who knew Dick will remember him for his strong work ethic and his love and artistic abilities in woodcarving. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff of Thorntonview for taking such good care of Dick and his family during his stay. Also many thanks to the professionalism and compassion shown by Dr. Pedretti and the nursing staff at Lakeridge Health – Oshawa, words cannot express. A Celebration of Dick’s Life will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234) on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A short service will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Alzheimer Society.
