Mr. Robert Bob Edward Jones

Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, October 11th, 2013. Loving husband and best friend of Imelda for 52 years. Inspirational and forever cherished Dad of Rhianon (Tony), Nicola (Dave) and Colin (Marianne). Much loved Grandad of Bethan, Shan, Klara, Finnegan and Bronwynn. Bob is survived by his sister Pamela, sister-in-law Sue Lee and brother-in-law Danny Davies. Predeceased by sisters Audrey and Eileen. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Bob will be fondly remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, his sense of humour, his ability to overcome adversity and his great courage throughout. “Bobby Jones” will be missed by his golfing friends at Oshawa Golf Club for his companionship and his skill at the short game. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many health care professionals who took care of Bob and his family for many years, especially the caring and compassionate staff of the 5th floor at Lakeridge Health Oshawa during his last few weeks. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, October 16th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CATHOLIC CHURCH (194 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa) on Thursday, October 17th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Arthritis Society.
