Aunt Stella a woman of character and strength.
While attending the funeral of Uncle Frank we all headed over to Cousin Mike and Angela's in Woodstock. While sitting around sharing stories of our beloved we decided to pass the time with a game of baseball. Not having a ball we improvised with pinecones. Lo and behold Aunt Stella comes to bat and hits them right over our head,then runs off to our makeshift first base. On this day she showed us "youngsters" a thing or two. She showed us that no matter what the age you can still have FUN..... This is one of my fondest and coolest memories. Rest In Peace Aunt Stella

It was with great sorrow that I heard of Stellas passing. I was calling to see how she and Mitch were doing when I was told of her passing that afternoon. She and Mitch have been with me through amateur radio and at a few conventions. Her special one was here in Halifax. She will surely be missed by our group of Sidebanders

Aunt Stella used a potatoe and ice cube to pierce ears,free in those days good memories Sister, She also did mine too!!!Many others too She was a Practical nurse way back in those days with Uncle Mackie.

I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Stella's passing. Though I have just a few memories of Aunt Stella (the name she assumed in my head, though she was my great aunt) they are tied with strong emotions. The first and last times I saw her were both at one of the big family reunions at Uncle Pats and I remember being so impressed by her. She seemed excessively happy and warm. I also got the notion that this woman was a go-getter, which was exactly what I thought I wanted to grow up to be at that time, when I was about 8. I noticed this in the simple act of her riding her bike, and strutting around confidently, but also from what people said about her and the way they said it. It was apparent she was looked up to by many people. Through the years, whenever she has been mentioned I've always been able to recall that feeling of wonder she gave me. May she rest in peace.

She was always a very special lady.Her
faith was strong. Her love for family was always in her heart. She pierced my ears when i was 16 in Granny Kavanaughs' home in Oshawa..I still enjoy haveing
pierced ears all these 41 years later.:):)
I have fun memories in New Brunswick at Uncle Pat and Lorraine's home and Aunt Stella in charge of making clam chowder.Life gives memories that Death cannot take.  Dianne Kavanaugh-Gault

Aunt Stella,
She was a very special person in my life, and helped me many times after Mom died with Nancy in Brandon.  My honeymoon with my first husband was at Aunt Stella and Uncle Mitch's in Brandon on way home from Banff.
Aunt Stella was a very caring giving person with many talents and if she didn't know how to do it she would learn. Her 4 children were Great to be raised with when Dad and Aunt Stella and Uncle Mackie were having a good time.
 My the Lord greet her with open arms and Join all who has gone befor her. Aunt Stella was a Great believer and even painted Mary for a church in Manitoba in 1996 that still hangs there today.  May she rest in peace always in the Lord's hand.  It was strange to find out when I moved to Niagara Falls all my neighbour's know Aunt Stella and Aunt Phyllis and their husbands that worked the local hotel one bartender and the other the waiter and ordered one for customer and one for them,small world. The apartments they lived in is now an air strip at the end of my road.  RIP
