Stephen Charles May

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Stephen, who left us on January 16, 2026, at the age of 71.

Stephen was born on February 18, 1954 in Toronto, and from the very beginning he carried a spirit of generosity, humour and strength. Since a young boy his true passion was the sport of golf, which he later would pass onto his sons.

Above all, Stephen was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Joanne of nearly 49 years. As a father, Stephen was deeply proud of his sons – Derek and Michael. He taught them by example: how to be kind, how to work hard, and how to go after their dreams.

He will be remembered for his love of family, friends and helping others. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he has touched.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; his children, Derek (Victoria) and Michael (Kirsten); and his grandchildren, Bronwynn, Emersyn, Sawyer and Audrey.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre, for all of their support and care.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King Street, West on Friday January 23, 2026 from 12:30 pm until time of service in the chapel at 1:30 pm.
