
To the love of my life, and my best friend.It has been almost eight months since you left us, but it feels like yesterday.They say that time heals, but in our case that is so not true. As a business associate, Bill was the best.  He was always delightful to work with. 
As Marketing Coordinator at Videoscope, I took care of "logo wear" to give to our customers. Bill provided amazing customer service and no matter how grumpy the day was, as soon as he walked in the door, his infectious good humor always made us smile.  I think of him every time I see someone wearing one of our shirts or hats.  
His friends at Videoscope will miss him.  We can only imagine how much, you will miss him, Pat, your family and grandchildren. May the good memories carry you forward.

My condolences to Bill's family. I always enjoyed the golf games I had with Big Bill at Whitevale.  He was a great competitor and he had a way of bringing out the best in me every time we played together.  He will be greatly missed by me as well as many others who had the privilege of knowing such a nice man.

We were shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Bill. Our condolences to Pat and the children, grandchildren and other family members. I worked with Bill for many years at CFTO and he was one of my coffee break buddies. We shared many a good chuckle and I will never forgot his laugh. Bill was able to talk me into a number of things including adopting an American hockey player for a year so he could play for the Don Mills Flyers and housing two 12 year old Soviet hockey players over Christmas one year so they could play in the holiday Peewee International Tournament. I know Bill was well respected as a coach of both baseball and hockey and was responsible for a number of professional careers. He will be missed. He was one of a kind.

Baseball games,CFTO vs SPUC; hockey discussions with Bill, John and the Giesk, at the restaurant; we shared many years together agree or not agree we could always have a laugh together.  Thinking of you Pat, Billy, Laurie, Mandy and families, we hope the memories of good times will give you some comfort, Bill's deep laugh will make us smile and I'm sure he will be missed by many friends, hockey players and family members. Complete shock in hearing of Bill's sudden passing. Deepest sympathies to his wife and family. A grand guy with a get laugh and joy of life. Unfortunately Bill and I will never get to finish our many discussions as to who was the better coach.

My sincere condolences to the Gunter family. I had the privilege of working with Bill during his years at CFTO He had a great sense of humour and always the best positive attitude.  I am sure that he will be dearly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time.

I grew up with Bill in Clairlea during the 50's & 60's and have many fond memories of Bill during those times .... we played hockey and baseball together and I was amazed at Bill's skating ability .. for a big man he literally floated over the ice.

The one story that I will always remember concerning Bill happened when we were all about 9 or 10 years old .. it was summertime and a bunch of us kids were playing road-hockey on Rosalind Crescent .. Bill was also there, but he wasn't playing .. he was cutting someone's front and back grass for money with an old push-mower .. we all kept laughing at Bill, as we were having such a good time and Bill was sweating away like crazy .. after about two hours Bill finally finished cutting the grass and knocked on the front door to receive his reward .. we all stopped playing to watch what was going to happen next, and then we saw the lady give Bill a brand new silver dollar .. that was a lot of money back then and Bill was going to make the most of it .. now he was getting the last laugh and started "flipping and catching" the silver dollar in front of us .. he was really rubbing it in .. then it happened .. on one of these flips Bill missed catching it and the silver dollar landed on the road near the curb and believe it or not it landed on it's edge and started rolling downhill .. Bill stood there for a second or two watching his coin roll down the street and then he realized there was a sewer about 25 feet away and the coin was picking up speed and heading right for it .. as we all watched in suspense, Bill ran after the coin as it neared the sewer and realizing he probably was not going to make in time, he dove towards the sewer and missed the coin by a fraction of a second .. plunk .. to the best of my knowledge that silver dollar with Bill's name on it is still there !!

I always enjoyed the stories Bill shared, his hearty laugh and admired his zest for life. I was just thinking of Bill recently and wondered how he was doing. I am saddened by the news. Bill was a great guy.  I will miss his visits and our chats. He was a man who loved his family very much. Everytime Bill came by the house just a few weeks ago, it was always the same thing. What Pat was doing, what the kids were up to and the onto the grandkids.  I have never met a man who talked so highly about his family as Bill did and always with that Bill smile on his face and a laugh I will forever remember.  Then it was onto hockey and golf talk.  We have known Bill for alot of years, always kept the company supplied with all his promotional items, we really did not need it but it was Bill so we just stocked it up.  We have alot of great memories.

Bill will be sadly missed by Dave and I but will forever go on in our hearts.

My sympathies to the Gunter family. Bill was a fellow employee at CFTO-TV and I remember how I enjoyed being with him. He was just a guy who was fun to be around. Bill Burrows

My condolences to the Gunter family and many of Bill's players and friends who know he was more than special.  

Bill was such a great mentor and friend who instilled values within me at an early age that I still live by.  Years after coaching me in Bantam, Bill was still willing to lend his advice and support by coming out to watch and provide valuable perspective as I was now coaching my Bantam aged son.  Where does the time go??  I'm so thankful that Bill and I were able to spend a precious day together last fall in a golf tournament when we could reminisce about our hockey days at Don Mills Flyers with guys like McBain, Zezel, Abric, Brown, and Rossi to name just a few.  In hindsight, how he ever convinced a young man who was about to enter St. Michael's College School in Grade 9 to switch teams and not play again with the St. Mike's GTHL team after all is beyond me. Thankfully he did as Bill has always been alive in me and always will be.

As I coach my son again this year, I’m going to dedicate our season to Bill so that each and every one of my players understands how important he was to me and to hopefully ensure Bill’s hockey and life lessons are shared and continue on!!

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Gunter's passing.  
He was a true mentor to so many of us that were coached by him in baseball & in hockey.
