Billy J. “Bill” Yaney, 90, of Ossian passed away Monday, February 1, 2016. He was born on March 7, 1925 in Dewey, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan. He was the owner and operator of his own ceramic tile company for 34 years. He retired as a rural mail carrier in Ossian. He was a member of Ossian Church of the Nazarene. Surviving family include his wife of 70 years, whom he married on February 17, 1945, Betty Yaney; children, Marsha (Vern) Ludden, Joy Deckard, Kevin (Lynn) Yaney, Michael (Mariko) Yaney; ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Orval Yaney and Ida (Henschen) Overholser. Funeral service is 11:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Ossian Church of the Nazarene, 302 North Metts St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the church. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse or Nazarene Compassionate Ministry.
