Christopher M. Braun

Christopher M. “Chris” Braun, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, May 28, 2011. Chris was born on August 6, 1961 in Fergus Falls, MN to Mark and Marilyn Braun. He attended grade school in Oregon and then high school in Wheaton, MN where he graduated in 1981. He attended Moorhead Tech in Moorhead MN for welding. Chris married Janice (Kellen) on September 22, 2006. They resided in Markle, IN. To them a daughter, Mattie AnnaMae was born who was the light of his life. He loved to teach her things and spend time with her. Their favorite thing to do together was stopping at garage sales. Whenever they saw a sign, Mattie would say, “Dadda, Dadda, garage sale, we have to stop!” Chris also loved the outdoors, wood working, and recycling things. Surviving Chris are his wife, Janice; daughter, Mattie; parents; Mark and Marilyn; siblings, Grant (Shelly) Braun, Chad Braun, Barbara (Christopher) Riddle; sister-in-law Cheri Braun; aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

Services for Chris will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the New Hope Lutheran Church, 8824 North State Road 1, Ossian with calling one hour prior. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for Mattie.
