Dave Allen Downs, 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. He was born in Smithtown, Kentucky on October 6, 1942, a son of the late John and Eva Downs. Dave enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Eva (Dave) Welch and Crystal (Randy) Russell; sons, John (Kelly) Downs and Donald (Gidget) James; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Dave was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Downs; and grandson, Chris Ploughe. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, Indiana 46777, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial to follow the service at Covington Memorial Gardens. Contributions in Dave's memory may be made to Christian Care.
