Dorothy Ilene Smith

Dorothy Ilene Smith, 96, of Rural Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Stillwater Hospice Home. She was born January 21, 1927 in Wells County, Indiana, daughter to the late Cleo and Lucille (Davis) Wilson. She had worked at Magnavox until 1966 and then cared for her home and family as a homemaker. She was a member of Hope United Methodist church and always enjoyed spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Melvin Smith of Fort Wayne, Roger Smith of Wolcottville, Douglas (Petra) Smith of Fort Wayne, and Darlene Sloderbeck of New Haven; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and siblings, Inamerl Alfonzo, Patricia Potts, Marjorie Roeback, and Paul Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Ira Smith in 2021; two great grandchildren; and siblings, Marvin Wilson, Mary Wilson, Donald Wilson, Sandy Kiess, and Rosalie Burns. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home,120 West Mill Street, Ossian, Indiana 46777 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation for Dorothy will also be held Monday, November 27, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Poe Williamsport Cemetery.
