

Frank D. Caston, 97, of rural Ossian passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015. He was born on March 9, 1918 in Arcola to the late William W. and Clara W. (Felger) Caston. He worked as a farmer his whole life and as an electrician at Tokheim Corp. for 20 years. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Uniondale and enjoyed spending his time fishing. Surviving family include his sons, Daniel F. (Cora) Caston, Leon J. Caston, Richard K. (Jan) Caston, and Dean W. (Shari) Caston; daughters, Judith A. (Bill) Kirn, Rita J. Caston, Ruth A. Overholt, Jill E. (Doug) Worden; 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Linda A. (Springer) Caston; grandson, Jonathan Caston; brothers, John and Earl Caston; and son in law, Mike Overholt. Funeral service will be 10:30 am on Friday, December 11, 2015 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 3-7 pm on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Uniondale or Donor’s Choice.
