Gene E. Hanna

Gene E. Hanna, 94, of Ossian, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015. She was born on August 28, 1921 in Fort Wayne to the late Roscoe and Voylet (Jackson) Platt. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Beaumont, CA. She enjoyed bicycling, traveling the world, and being involved in her family’s lives; serving as a PTA president, band booster, and volunteer work within her community. Surviving family include her children, Nancy (Richard) Kelly-Shull, Priscilla Hartley, both of Ossian, John C. (Diane) Hanna of Rochester, NY, Frederick (Bonnie) Hanna of San Luis Obispo, CA, Robert (Terry) Hanna of Trabuco Canyon, CA; grandchildren, Angelia (Don) Frisch, Robert (Carla) Kelly, Bill (Peggy) Smith, Jamie (Matt) Chamberlain, Jonathan (Stephanie) Hanna, Joseph (Tasha) Hanna, Torrey Hanna, Stephanie (Aryeh) Goldsmith, Julie (Maurice) Laflamme, Michelle Hanna, 17 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Hissem; and nephew Father Daniel Hanna. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, John E. Hanna, and a son, William Michael Hanna. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with viewing starting at 11:00 am. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
