Helen F. Nahrwold

Helen F. Nahrwold, 91, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on April 5, 1920 in Adams County to the late John and Amanda (Bleeke) Heuer. She attended Monmouth High School and graduated in 1938. She married Carl W. Nahrwold on June 22, 1946 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at Fuelling in Adams County; he died on April 9, 1994. Helen was a homemaker; she was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the church’s Ladies Aide Society near Ossian. She is survived by her three children, Colleen (Tom) Patrick of Ossian, Dr. Cynthia Nahrwold of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Michael (Kathy) Nahrwold of Ossian; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence (Heuer) Matthews.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514 East 750 North, Ossian with visitation one hour prior with Rev. William R. Brege officiating. Visitation hours will also be from 2-5 and 7-9 on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery following the service. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church Building Fund, or Worship for Shut-Ins.
