James Drake

James “Jim” D. Drake, 71, of Ossian passed away Wednesday October 6, 2010. He was born on March 2, 1939 to the late Delbert and Wilma (Nicholes) Drake. He worked as a mechanic at Lift-All before retiring. He was a member of the Life Community Church, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1421 after serving in the Army. He enjoyed spending his time collecting coins, feeding and watching birds, especially eagles. Surviving relatives include his wife of 13 years, Dorma (Rogers) Drake of Ossian; daughter, Sherri Drake of Ft. Wayne; sister, Deanna (Norris) Buckner of Danville, West Virginia; step-children, Jim Bird of Munice, Nena (Randy) Hobbs of Alexandria, Lisa (Steve) Tackett of Shreveport, LA, E. Scott (April) Bird of Huntington; former wife, Georgie Drake of Ft. Wayne; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. There will be no services at this time per Jim’s request.
