John O. Raidy, 84, of Ossian, passed away, Thursday, August 8, 2013. He was born on March 31, 1929 in Fort Wayne to the late Edward and Elsie (Kumfer) Raidy. He worked as a truck driver for Carolina Freight before retiring in 1991 and hauled milk for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army and later was a member of the American Legion. Surviving family include his wife, Luba Jean (McKeeman) Raidy of Ossian; brother in law, Neal (Peggy) McKeeman; 3 nephews, Chris (Kim), Eric (Danielle), Greg (Sarala) McKeeman; 5 great nephews, and 1 great niece. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Jr. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Monday, August 12, 2013 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
