Juanita Walker, 92, of Florida, formerly of Ossian passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017. She was born on May 26, 1925 in Ashland Kentucky, a daughter of the late James B. and Myrtle A. (Lewis) Morgan. She worked at ITT and later retired from K-Mart Distribution Center. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) and the ladies auxiliary at American Legion Post 241 and Moose Lodge 1145 where she enjoyed music and dance. Some of Juanita’s favorite memories were times spent with friends and family at Blue Lake. Retired for nearly 30 years, Juanita loved to entertain others and looked forward to visits from her Indiana family. She also enjoyed welcoming new residents to her retirement community in Florida. She was affectionately referred to as “Aunt Nee Nee” by her nieces and nephews. Surviving family include her daughter, Donna Kay (John) Freds, son, Gary (Theresa) Walker; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Clark, Doris Donaghy Jones, and Joyce Hunter; and son-in-law, Ike Huffman. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband Lewis J. Walker; son, Donald Walker, daughter, Gay Lynn Huffman; and sister, Lillian (Ed) Stoppenhagen. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 1-4 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
