

Opal D. Thiele, 87, of rural Ossian, passed away, Sunday, April 27, 2014. She was born on January 8, 1927 in Blackford County, Indiana to the late Daniel A. and Ada L. (Futrell) Mahon. She worked and retired from Fort Wayne Wire Die, Inc. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Thiele Road and enjoyed cooking, cards, and traveling. Surviving family include her son, William A. “Bill” (Rose) Thiele; granddaughters, Tammy (James) Bradtmueller, Laura (Jerry) Quinn; great grandchildren, James, Jr., Derek, Ryan, Holly, and Grant Bradtmueller, Keri, Eryn, and Cera Quinn; sister, Anna Sisk; sister in law, Susan Mahon; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband, Emil W. Thiele; daughter, Shirley; grandson, Michael; and siblings, Martha, Herbert, and Earl. A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Thiele Road.
