Raymond "Ray" Schmidt, 76, of Ossian passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Ray was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on June 7, 1947, he was a son of the late Martin and Gloria (Creek) Schmidt. Ray was a lineman for over 30 years. He had a passion for fishing, collecting baseball cards, and watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. Ray is survived by his fiancé, Ellen Fencl; daughter, Jennifer Schmidt; grandchildren, Brent Sherry and Connor Nesburg; sisters, Eileen (Pete) Deyer and Ruthann Schmidt; brothers, Steven (Kathy), Robert and Jeff (Jill) Schmidt; aunt, Shirley Acott; and sister-in-law, Shirley Schmidt. He was also preceded in passing by his daughter, Kim Nesburg; and brother, Michael Schmidt. There will be no services at this time.
