

Roderick D. “Rod” Fox, 84, of Bluffton passed away at home on Monday, December 21, 2015. He was born on April 11, 1931 in Markle to the late Lewis and Chloe (Cass) Fox. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He worked as a gas line engineer and headed the computer division at Nipsco before retiring in 1990. He was a 50+ year member of Bluffton Masonic Lodge 145, American Legion 111, and Nipsco Club. He enjoyed football, drones/quadcopters, and attending the local fairs. Surviving family include his son, Ken Fox; daughter, Joanne (Dennis Phillips) Fox; beloved cat, Shadow; and care giver, Cheryl Sowards. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay (Mackey) Fox. Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian. Memorials may be made to Family Life Care, Berne or Wells County Animal Shelter where his beloved cat, Shadow was adopted from.
