Terrance "Terry" C. Smith

Terrance " Terry" C. Smith, 77, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2024, in Ossian, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Terry was born on September 7, 1947, to Charles and Marie Smith in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Lowell High School before embarking on a fulfilling career in sales. Beyond his professional life, Terry's greatest joy was his family, who considered him the best father and grandfather and a steadfast source of love and encouragement.

In his later years, Terry found happiness in simple pleasures—listening to oldies on his iPad and reminiscing about classic cars. His warmth, bright smile, and kind spirit lit up every room he entered, and he had a special way of making everyone around him feel appreciated and uplifted.

Terry’s cherished legacy lives on through his daughters, Angelia (Chris Hoffman) Frisch and Jamie (Matt) Chamberlain and his son, Bill (Peggy) Smith. He was a proud grandfather to Justin (Raven) Koch, Cameron Frisch, Paige (Josh) Vanmeter, Austin Chamberlain, Madison Chamberlain, Landon Chamberlain, Leyton Chamberlain, Tyler (Stephanie) Smith, and Hanna (Dustin) Lobsiger. Terry’s love extended to his 12 great-grandchildren, as well as his nieces and nephews, Kellilynn Frias, Ryan Frias, and Aaron Frias, and their children. He is also remembered by his extended family and many dear friends.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. and Marie C. Smith and his beloved sister, Kim M. Frias.

Terry will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Terry’s life will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Ossian United Methodist Church, 201 West Mill Street Ossian, Indiana 46777.
