

He was born July 13, 1926 in Susquehanna, PA the son of Irene Heiler.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII as a fireman and petty officer as well as a chaplain.
On February 14, 1979, Robert married Claudia Tomlinson in Otego. Together they celebrated 33 years of marriage. They each had pet names for each other, Bob called Claudia “Dewdrop” and Claudia called Bob, “Snuckers”.
For several years he worked at Harold Sallie’s garage in Otego. He then worked for the New York State Department of Labor as a claims examiner for 35+ years retiring in 1975.
He enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. Bob also loved to bake. He was a self taught landscape artist and oil painter. He gave and sold his painting in Canada and North and South America. He also loved to read, dance and listen to country music, his favorite song was Ann Murray’s “May I have this last dance for the rest of my life”. One of his passions was putting ship models together. But most of all, Bob loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved having parties and family get-togethers.
Bob was a member of the Otego Fire Department; the Secretary/Treasurer for the Otsego County Peace Officer’s Organization and the Elm Park United Methodist Church.
Robert is survived by his wife, Claudia LeVeille of Otego; his son, Robert D. LeVeille, Jr. and Kelly Snell of Otego; his step children, Heather Knutsen and Tom Brown of Otego and Matthew and Paula Knutsen of Otego; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sharon LeVeille.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Robert's name may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association.
