

Edith Pearl was born to Arthur and Lillian Bullock on June 26, 1917. She joined her older siblings – brother Earl, and sisters Helen and Lois, in Topeka, Kansas. She married Garold O’Haver, her high school sweetheart on March 28, 1937 in Wichita, Kansas. Garold and Edith began raising their family of four sons and a daughter. Edith and Garold, along with the two oldest children, moved from Fair Play, Missouri to Pateros, Washington in 1944. Edith was a homemaker and Garold worked in construction building houses in Pateros and then went to work on Chief Joseph Dam. Edith then packed the family and moved to Dallesport, WA where Garold worked on the Dalles dam. Once that dam was completed Edith once again packed the family and they moved to Loma Linda, CA. there were many moves around southern California, finally settling near Upland where her children finished their schooling. In the late 70’s Edith and Garold moved to Othello, WA to be near their daughter. They worked as apartment managers and Garold at the school. They were involved in the Senior Center for many years, both serving as President. Edith served many years as a board member for the Old Hotel Art Gallery. Edith’s careers included homemaking, poodle groomer, artist, musician and poet to name a few. Edith mastered several instruments including piano, organ, accordion, harmonica, Ukelin, Hawaiian Tremola and she loved to play music with friends and family. She instilled her love of music, art and poetry in many generations of her family. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was known for playing the piano beautifully.
