Gilberto Guerra

Gilberto (Beto) Guerra, at age 94, of Othello, passed away July 08, 2014. He was born in Kingsville, TX on June 3, 1920 to Hilario Guerra and Antonia Rodriguez. He served in the Army during WWII as part of the 90th Infantry in Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Ardennes and Rhineland and was awarded the Purple Heart, EAME Campaign Medal with Five Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 1 Service Stripe and 3 Overseas Service Bars. He had a passion for farming and working hard to provide for his family. Furthermore, he loved spending time with his family and had a strong Faith in God. He is loved by all who knew him especially his caring and supportive wife, Otimia Aguilar Guerra and his children Sylvia Weathers, Joe Nuno, Andy and Julie Nuno, Anna Nuno, Roy Nuno, Ema M Billings, Lisa Guerra and Chris Montoya, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren and his living sister Antonieta Tobin.
