

Laurel was born on March 20, 1948 to Albert C. and Clara C (Meeks) Woiblet in Walla Walla, WA. She attended school in Walla Walla Graduating From WA High and going on to earn her B.A. Degree in Education from Washington State University. After she graduated Laurel accepted a job in Othello where she taught 5th grade at Scootney Springs elementary. While at Scootney Spring she met a fellow teacher Keith Knox. They were married on December 5, 1970 in Walla Walla. Laurel moved to Hiawatha Elementary where she taught 3rd grade. Laurel and her family moved to the Tri Cities in 1974 then returned to Othello in 1981. From 1981 until she retired Laurel had a long successful career as a substitute teacher in the Columbia Basin area.
Laurel enjoyed her travels; the first trip she took with her parents was to Europe to visit the city in Switzerland that was home for her grandfather. She returned to Europe on her honeymoon with Keith. She loved animals especially cats.
Laurel was preceded in death by her parents. A son Keith “Chip” and her granddaughter Willa Rose Wegner. She is survived by her husband Keith Sr. a daughter Brandee (Rob) Wegner, a sister Cami (Rick) Barrett and a brother Steve (Kathy) Woiblet, her grand children; Chris, Kaity and JT Wegner as well as many of her four legged friends.
