Magdaleno Carlos Casillas

Magdaleno was born in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico on May 29, 1956 to Florentino and Gabriela Carlos Casillas. He moved to Arizona in 1974 and worked in agriculture throughout the region. He settled in Othello in 1990. In 1992 he met Margarita Tapia. They were married on May 27, 1995. Magdaleno continued working with the harvest, at first in the fields then as a truck driver. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved the church and its teachings so much that in 2002 he began taking classes to become a deacon in the church. He was ordained on August 4, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Magdaleno was a very hard worker, even in his off time he was known to develop and execute projects around his house or helping a neighbor. He put in a new yard at his house with the help of members of the church, tended his vegetable garden and in the last days of his life he put up a deck in their back yard.

He will be remembered as a giving, kind and compassionate person who loved his family and his church.

Magdaleno is survived by his wife Margarita, his son Sergio of Warden, his daughters Patty Avelar of Moses lake, Leticia, Beatris and Mireya Casillas all of Warden and numerous brothers.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday September 10, 2013 beginning at 4:00 and ending at 7:00 PM rosary will be prayed at 6:00 that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 11, 2013 at 11:00 At Sacred Heart. Burial will follow at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens.
