

She was born in Bellingham, WA to Herbert and Nora (Larson) Hoy on December 4, 1941. She attended school in Burlington, WA graduating from Burlington high School. During high school she met Charles (Chuck) Truman. Chuck joined the Marine Corps after high school. Upon his discharge in 1956 they were married. They made their home in the Burlington area until the moved to Connell to farm. In 1972 they moved to Othello. Sharon worked as a bookkeeper for Russell Construction Company then for Taggares Farms. She and Chuck then went into business selling Native American products at local fairs. Sharon also had a business buying houses refurbishing them and then selling them.
Sharon was a very social person, she loved to visit and go out, especially if it was to go dancing with her favorite partner Jay Nichols. She was a big fan of country western music.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Jolie and her husband Charles. She is survived by her son Cory of Othello, her brothers Herb Hoy of Cody, WA and Gary Hoy of Arlington, WA.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday May 9, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Stevens Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday.
