

Adoracion Ferrer de Belen, age 94, of Ottawa, Ontario, passed away on January 9, 2025. Born on May 13, 1930 in Cabanatuan, NE, Philippines, to Atty. Carlos and Ester Ferrer, Adoracion graduated from Philippines Normal College, pursued a teaching career, and later migrated to Canada, retiring from the Federal Government. Known as Nanay to many, she was a remarkable woman whose legacy of love and commitment will forever be cherished.
Nanay’s word was her bond, and her promises were commitments she upheld with unwavering integrity. She embodied selflessness, always helping others, especially her family. Her home celebrations were filled with laughter, love, and delicious food, creating joyous and memorable moments. Nanay’s sacrifices and compassion touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Beloved wife of the late Wenceslao. Nanay is survived by her eldest son Delano and his wife Josephine, her grandchildren Charles Wendel and Jo Danielle Adora, and her great granddaughter Valencia Storm and her younger son Ariel and his wife Elenita, and her granddaughter Louise Anne, who will all carry forward her legacy. She will be reunited with her husband, parents, and four siblings in heaven.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm, at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel (1411 Hunt Club Road). A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 25th at 10am at Holy Cross Parish. Reception to follow.
