

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Albert Georges Côté, beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and servant of the Lord, at the age of 70. Albert passed away on December 22, 2024, at his home in Vanier, Ontario, where he had been a resident for over 30 years.
Albert was born in Timmins, Ontario, on May 24, 1954, to the late Fernand Côté and Bernadette (Roberge) Côté. He grew up in Timmins, where he attended École Secondaire Thériault, and later pursued studies at St-Paul’s University. Throughout his life, Albert remained a devoted and passionate seeker of knowledge, particularly in matters of faith. He was always on a quest for the deeper truths of scripture, embracing challenging discussions that expanded his understanding and brought him closer to God.
A man of deep faith and unwavering conviction, Albert spent his life sharing the love of the Lord with those around him. His generous spirit, selflessness, and dedication to his community were evident in all he did. He showed resourcefulness and tenacity in his approach to most of life’s challenges and strongly believed in individual agency and sovereignty, encouraging his community to be aware and engaged. He was quick to offer support, friendship, encouragement, and advocacy to those in need and those without a voice. In all things, Albert hungered for justice and sought the face of God. His was a truly discerning heart. He lived out well Psalm 127 – “Unless the Lord builds the house, in vain does the labourer toil.” His life was a true testament to service, and he leaves behind a legacy of meaningful relationships and lasting friendships that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Albert’s life was defined by service, and he leaves behind a profound impact on the many lives he touched.
Albert was predeceased by his father, Fernand Côté, and his nephew, Jean Hilaire Montreuil, and brother-in-law Roch Hupé.
Albert is survived by his loving mother, Bernadette Côté of Lac Etchemin, Québec, and his siblings: his twin brother Louis (Janet), Yvon (Angie), Estelle (Jerry Selin), Monique (Claude Paquin), Claire (Denis Brazeau), Paul (Carole), Rachel (Milan Oppelt), Lorraine (Brian Mundell), Solange, Philippe, Janine (Mike Nyvall) and Guy (Jennifer), and He will also be greatly missed by his 26 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
In addition to his immediate family, Albert leaves behind his cherished friends from his prayer group, a tight-knit community of 12 men who regularly gather to pray, study scripture, and praise God. Albert’s faith journey was enriched by the fellowship and support he received from this long-standing group of friends. In recent years, Albert found a second family in the Biker Church, a welcoming community that embraced him with open arms and strengthened his spiritual walk.
A man who exemplified humility, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to his faith and community, Albert will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a profound legacy of kindness, love, and generosity.
Visitation will be held at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home at 180 Montreal Road in Vanier on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral service to celebrate Albert's life will be held at the Capital City Bikers Church, 155 Carillon Street in Vanier, on Wednesday, January 22d, 2025 at 10:00 AM . In lieu of flowers, the family requests prayers and Requiem Masses for the Repose of Souls. Donations can be made in Albert's name to Partage Vanier.
