I just heard the news of Al's passing, how it saddens me to know that I will never again be greeted in the morning at Place Bell by his jovial smile,quick joke or some teasing about last nights hockey game. I am so saddened to hear of the passing of Aldege.  He greeted me by name almost every morning for I'd say almost a good 20+ years, as I also knew him when he worked and I parked at L'Esplanade Laurier.  Such a lovely warm caring man :)  I wished I could have attended his service, I was away last week and only just heard the news today.  So nice to see all the entries of folks who Al also greeted every morning, a testament to how one person truly can make a difference in peoples lives!  Hopefully he knows this and how greatly missed he will be ... Mes sinceres sympathies a toute sa famille.

Reading these comments about our father has provided some light in an otherwise dark period of our lives. So many comments about his passing included how he brightened-up someone's day at his current job. I can only surmise that this would have helped so many people. My father was one of a kind not matter the audience. His love for my mother could not be written by Hollywood herself. I can't say nor write how much he meant to me and sadly now, I can't say it to him, either! While words cannot describe our loss of such a wonderful person in our lives, we can say thank you to all of you who took time to express your thoughts.

I didn't know Al well but enjoyed his cheerful greetings every morning at the Place Bell parking garage. It was a nice moment every work morning that I will miss. My condolences to his family, he was a nice man.

On some days, Al was the best part of my day. I will miss seeing his sweet, genuine smile everyday as I pull into the parking garage where I work. I remember arriving to that building for the first time for an interview and being incredibly nervous. Al greeted me as only he can and that interaction really put my nerves at ease. We are truly loss for words to say how deeply saddened we were to hear about Uncle Aldege. They say that the good ones always go too soon. Uncle Aldege's sense of humor, gift of story telling, and the way he lit up a room will be sincerely missed. It was a privilege to call him our uncle and have such a wonderful person in our lives. The memories from the cottage will be the most cherished, along with all of the times he had us laughing to tears. He was a wonderful man, who touched many lives and put countless smiles upon people's faces. He would not want us to be sad, but to celebrate and remember all the good times we spent with him. I didn't know Aldege Senior very well, but I do know his son well, and most of what I knew of him was through his son.

I do know that he was a good and happy man. A man that had a family at a young age and never shirked his responsibilities. A proud father, a devoted husband, a man that took pleasure from working hard and a job well done.

Mostly what I will remember about him, though, is his joie de vivre. He is a man who loved people, loved the simple things and loved life.

Uncle Al was a Husband, father,grandfather and a brother to 8. He was a very happy hardworking man who was an amazing husband toy Aunt Bonnie and raised cousins that still to this day I look up to. 
If you were going somewhere he was then you knew you would be in good company. He was the life of the party keeping us laughing with his jokes. He was a kind man with a big heart. He was a simple man who loved his wife of 50 years very much. He and my father Denis were very close. I remember uncle al visiting us though out my life no matter where we lived. I always loved sitting by the pool joking for hours with him. He reminded me to value the little things in life and that family comes first. 
He and my mother were very close and I know she will miss him very much. My little brother called him uncle "Pepsi Pepsi" he loves big eddy so much he asked if he could be his Grandpa haha ohhh the memories . I thank you for those because every time I think of you I will smile from ear to ear. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

His "Good morning, Captain" greetings always made me feel special but in truth, Aldege was the special one sharing sunshine in a grey setting.

R.I.P uncle Aldege. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten. God broke our hearts to prove he only takes the best. Gonna miss your wonderful personality and your very funny jokes.
