Artur August Hellriegel

Born to the late Johann Hellriegel and Theresa Mueller. He was a devoted father to Nancy Munroe and Linda Ott (Jerry), and a proud grandfather to Jessica Ott and Theresa Trus (Peter), all of whom will carry his memory with love and gratitude. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Emilie Dammert, his nephews Alexander (Katja), Peter (Helga) and great niece Mia and great nephew Moritz, and his beloved companion, Suzanne Laplante, with whom he shared many cherished years.

Artur had a lifelong appreciation for the natural world and the written word. He found joy in reading National Geographic, studying the Bible, and taking long walks through nature. His gentle spirit and thoughtful reflections were a comfort to those around him.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their compassionate care and support in his final days.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 25th from 5-8pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday June 27th at 11:30am in the chapel at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Hope Cemetery.
