After living in various locations in Canada, she and her husband Roger, moved to Ottawa in 1981 and have lived there ever since.
Carol loved her family above all things. When the children were young, she loved to go camping and sit around the campfire. Travelling was another passion; anytime a trip was even suggested, she was all for it. She and Roger made many trips south to Myrtle Beach with their friends Don and Judi. Cruising was another love, both ocean and river cruises.
Carol was a great curling enthusiast. She was a member of the Granite Curling Club for many years, past Evening Ladies President and Day Ladies President. One of her career highlights was going to the Intermediate Ladies Provincial finals. She and Roger were also involved in the Ottawa Valley Goodwill Tour making two exchange trips to Scotland for curling matches with the Scots. She made many friends with the tour group and Scots. She also enjoyed golfing and her competitive spirit was a challenge for Roger.
She was involved with a book club and liked to contribute by reading as much as she could. Her book club friends were cherished even though she could not make all their meetings.
When Carol was younger, she participated in a bowling league, baseball, and even managed her son’s hockey team. She was a past member of the Kinettes organization when living in Dryden. Carol worked at various organizations, with the last 25 years as a Federal Government employee before retiring in 2010.
