Sherry was born in Toronto, January 25, 1948. Sherry, Gay and Elsie moved to Regina for 3 years with her maternal grandparents. They moved back to Toronto and in a few years relocated to Ottawa where Sherry attended High School and then began a career in the Federal Government Public Service until her retirement.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Steve, his daughter Arianna (Michelle), and son Parker (Princess), sister Gay (Bob), brothers, Farrell, Jason (Tara), brother-in-law Bob (Kim). Nephew and nieces; John, Anne (Steve), Dougie (Sarah), Alex, Roberta (Matt), Koen, Grace. Great nieces and nephews; Amellea, Addison, Briar, Jeremy, Joshua, James and Alexandra. Cousins; Sandy (Wayne), Lynn (Rick), Donna (Geoff), Cindy (Bob), Colleen (Michael), Jamie (Michele) and their children and many more extended family and friends.
Sherry shared her love of food and cooking with her husband Steve and at anytime you could find them working together in the kitchen to create a delicious meal. Sherry’s fridge was always full with anything you might want for breakfast, lunch or supper or just a late-night snack. You would never go hungry.
Sherry was a lover of books, golf and an avid Blue Jay and Maple Leaf fan. You could often find her curled up with a good book and golf/ball /documentary always on the tv and mostly with her beloved cats close by. Sherry loved travelling and art and had many interesting pieces, each with a story to tell from all over the world. She was someone who you wanted on your trivial pursuit team, and she could answer any history, geography, political question and if it was a Royal Family question, she would surely know the answer.
Family and friends are welcome to join a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 10th from 3pm-7pm at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home and Chapel, 1411 Hunt Club Road. Words of Remembrance to being at 4:15pm.
