David Simpson will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the wonderful sense of humour that brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 44 years, Teri; his beloved children, Shauna, Matthew, and Christine (Eric Kuehn); and his cherished grandchildren, Mila and Lily Kuehn. David is also lovingly remembered by his brother John, his sister Susan, his nephew Danny, as well as his extended family and many, many dear friends.
People were at the heart of everything David did. He loved deeply and took great pride in his children and grandchildren, who meant the world to him. His home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and life. Some of his happiest moments were spent enjoying music, cooking, and bringing family and friends together—creating cherished memories that will be held close forever.
David’s legacy of love, laughter, and humour will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and in the many lives he touched.
Family and friends are invited to join in a time of remembrance on Sunday, March 29th, from 2:00–5:00 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Rd., Ottawa. This will be a gathering to share memories, stories, and celebrate David’s life, with a brief time for shared remarks at 3:00 p.m.
For those wishing to honour David’s memory, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
