Denis Desmarais

Founder of Hobby House Ltd. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 5, 2019 at the age of 86 years. Son of the late Joseph Desmarais and the late Simone Labrie, and the loving husband of Rejeanne Desmarais. He leaves in sorrow his children, Michael Desmarais (Carol Anne Lee-Desmarais), Julie Desmarais (Martin Steele, daughter Crystal-Rose Vassall-Steele), Roger Desmarais (Bibeana Tilley), Leonard Desmarais (Gene Atkinson), and Lynn McDaniel, mother of grandsons Matthew and Nicholas Desmarais. He leaves his brother Richard Desmarais, his sister Irene Docksey, his brother-in-law Ron Sauriol as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brother René and Roland Desmarais. The family would like to thank everyone for their patronage, friendship and support over the years. Family and friends may pay their respects at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa on October 30 and 31 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 320 Olmstead Street, Ottawa, on November 1 at 11 a.m. In fond memory of Denis, donation to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish would be appreciated.
