Donald Earl Stanley

After a courageous battle with Parkinson Disease on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Vera and cherished father of Patti-Jane (Parm Gill). Son of the late Earl and Agnes Stanley. Dear brother of Ken (late Helen), Joyce (late Maynard Cherry), Art (Ruth), Phyllis (late Keith Mitchell), and Ruby; also predeceased by Howard (late Annalea) and Willis. Dear brother-in-law of Eleanor and Don Ferguson. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, neighbours, and dogs. Special thanks to the staff at St. Pat`s Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) from 7-9 pm; and on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 1-2 pm at Stanley`s Olde Maple Lane Farm, 2452 York`s Corners Road, Edwards, On, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm. Spring interment North Russell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Parkinson Society or Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated. Don was born on the farm, raised on the farm and always loved his time on the farm. Don, the horses are put away, so now you can rest.
