

Kerry Lawson died on December 26, 2025, in the season he loved the most.
He was the beloved husband of Roshene Lawson for 33 years, sharing a daughter and a deep and enduring love that carried them through life’s joys and challenges.
Kerry was a devoted and loving father to his four children, Liam (Amy), Emily (Jibran), Brenden (Erica), and Keira, and he died knowing how deeply he was cherished by them.
He adored his grandchildren, Arlo and Quin, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his newest grandson, Elias.
Kerry shared an important chapter of his life with his former wife, Cathy Lawlis with whom he shared the pride and joy of their three children.
He was predeceased by his parents, Carmen and Cliff Lawson, and by his nephew, Ian Lawson van Toch.
Kerry will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Stephen (Joanne), and Clifton, and by his sisters, Kathryn (Marc), Debra (Ted), Shannon, and Brigitte, as well as by nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A celebration of Kerry’s life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (174 Wilbrod Street). Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m.-1:30 p.m.and his service will follow at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bruyère Health.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Regional Palliative Care Team, and the staff at Bruyere Health, St. Vincent Hospital, where Kerry regained strength following his stay at The Ottawa Hospital and received compassionate respite care during the final year of his life. Special gratitude is extended to Dr. Paul Crabtree, whose care and advocacy made Kerry’s final wish—to remain at home—come true.
Kerry loved to stargaze, and reflect on the mysteries of the universe. We take comfort in knowing that he is now a part of it.
