On Tuesday, August 13, 2019 Beth departed this world at the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. She died peacefully, enveloped by the unconditional love of her family. She continues her journey with her late husband Norman and parents Robert and Mae Tennant. Left behind to mourn their loss and carry on Beth’s legacy are her daughter Eileen Leslie (Dave), son Eric (Shelly Dunn) and grandchildren Erin Leslie (Brendan Conway) and Ryan Leslie (Evelyne Gauvin). Words alone are not enough to express the appreciation that we have for Erin and Brendan, who provided Beth with the means to extend her ability to live independently this past year, and to Ryan, who was with her for an extended period when Norman passed away and was able to help his grandmother with that transition. As well, Beth was blessed to have many caring friends that have provided much needed additional support. Each one of you will hold a place in our hearts forever. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their families, all of whom were so much a part of her life and so very important to her. Please join us in celebrating Beth’s life on Sunday, August 25 at Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 MacArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, ON. Visitation from 1-2 pm followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 2 pm. In memory of Beth, please consider donating to the Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital or to your favourite charity.

Dear Eileen , Eric and Family. We are very sorry to hear of the loss of Beth. Ian has some very fond memories of your family and Beth and time spent in Ottawa in the summers as a youth. I was fortunate to meet Beth just a few times and she was always kind and welcoming. Had a good sense of humour and a no nonsense and straight forward attitude . You are very fortunate to share lots of wonderful memories as she was such an integral part of your lives Thinking of you all at this time. Love Sue & Ian

"Mac" and I nursed together at the Perley Hospital in Ottawa. We decided to golf together on our days off, and did so for many years. I was just learning to golf, and didn't hit the ball very far, but Mac could hit it so far, that we spent lots of time, and laughs, looking for her ball. I even learned to speak with her delightful Scottish accent!! We had lots of good times together..

She was such a fun and happy person. I missed her when she moved to Carleton Place, and didn't see her as often., but kept in touch with Christmas cards.

Rest in peace with Norman, Mac.

to Beth Family.
I am truly sorry to hear the loss of a wonderful person. I got to know Beth over the years. She was a customer at Giant Tiger in Carleton Place. She was a sweetheart of a person-her smile would light up the room. Beth always was a happy person. She was always glad to see her friends at Tim Hortons on a regular basis. I will miss that smile that she always had, the stories she always told, and the arguing she always did. I always enjoyed her company.
Last Sept 28,2018 I surprised her on her 90th Birthday at Tim Hortons with her loving friends and we celebrated with her. She loved the surprise and she thanked me for it. Rest in peace, my Friend, we will miss your smile and stories and your arguing. She loved her Sens Team.
My heartfelt condolences are with her Family and Friends during this sorrow time.

My friend Beth:
She was always happy. We attended church suppers together, went to the Town Singers together, sang together. She was always the one I went to if I was lonely and we would have tea and cookies, talk and put the world to rights. I always felt better when I got home.
A friend I love and will miss as long as I live.
Rest In Peace with Norman, Beth. ❤️

Like so many of Beth's friends I will truly miss the many chats with her- talking about our nursing training in the UK, and putting the World affairs to order, and our "coffee hour" at Tim Horton's.
Will always love you Beth for who you were, well done my friend.
Rest in Peace.
Ronette.
